Job description
La Vie en Rose is currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Complex care Assistant to provide assistance to a 59-year-old lady with complex needs in Cheltenham (GL52). The individual requires extensive support due to her high risk of choking and aspiration, stemming from a muscular dystrophy condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 24/7 support on a 2:1 basis.
- Assist with maintaining the individual’s airway effectively, utilizing Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV), Cough Assist Machine (Inexsufflator), Nebuliser, Steam Inhaler, and peg feeding.
- Monitor and manage the individual’s respiratory function, recognising signs of distress and responding promptly.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, considering the individual’s reduced mobility due to muscular dystrophy and muscle weakness.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance the individual’s well-being.
- Prior experience working with individuals with complex medical needs, preferably with experience in muscular dystrophy and respiratory conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Flexibility to work day shifts from 08:00 to 20:00
- working alternate weekends

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Must have full driving license and access to own vehicle
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in complex care sector Epilpesy and yong adults
- Good communication skills and a good sense of humour

- Assisting patients with grooming and personal hygiene
